The Teaching and Learning Team works to enhance professional development, curriculum, instruction and assessment across the district.

 

The K-12 Teaching and Learning department’s focus is to enhance the quality and effectiveness of professional development, curriculum, instruction and assessment across the district. The team works beside administration and teachers to support inclusive and engaging learning environments to ensure student success. 

  • The department supports staff in using assessments and resulting data to determine the most appropriate response to meet students' needs. The team maintains a robust assessment system to monitor student progress, identify areas for improvement and provide feedback for state and national exams, including the:

  • The department works beside staff to improve curriculum articulation and utilize the district’s resources thoughtfully, fiscally and supportively to ensure that students find success. 

  • The department monitors, supervises and supports high-quality teaching and learning aligned with students’ and families’ needs. The team fosters collaboration and communication with all stakeholders to establish best practices and support continuous improvement. 

  • The department creates and sustains a K-12 support framework through the Cycle of Improvement and professional learning. Using feedback from administration and staff, the team organizes, manages and oversees professional learning.
