Volunteer Clearances
Thank you for lending your time and your talents to the students of the Exeter Township School District! For security and safety, all volunteers are required to download and complete the volunteer application above and obtain criminal and child abuse clearances in order to work directly with or around children in the district. All volunteers will need to obtain the Act 34 and Act 151 PA clearances and the Act 114 FBI clearance.
To register as a volunteer, please complete the following steps:
- Complete the Volunteer Application and form acknowledging the receipt of ETSD Volunteer Policy #916
- Complete the Act 34 Criminal History Record form (link & directions below)
- Complete the Act 151 Child Abuse History Clearance form (link & directions below)
- Complete the Act 114 FBI Federal Criminal History (link & directions below)
- Turn in all forms and certifications to the Human Resources Department at the Exeter Township Administration Building at 200 Elm Street, Reading, PA 19606. Forms must be submitted at least 5 school days prior to the field trip/event.
Directions to Complete Volunteer Clearances
Act 34 Criminal History Record
Directions:
- Visit the Pennsylvania Access To Criminal History website to begin.
- Select New Volunteer Record Check.
- Read and accept the Terms and Conditions.
- At the start of the form, please use "Exeter Township School District" and list "610-779-0700" as the volunteer phone number.
- Complete the remaining required information. Click Next.
- Verify information is correct, and then click Proceed.
- Complete the Record Check Request Form by re-entering your information.
- Submit your request.
- On the next page, click Submit.
- You will receive an email with a link to your record check when the request has been completed. Please enter your control number, request date, first name and last name to retrieve your record check.
- Click on your control number.
- Click on the receipt number at the bottom of the form.
- Print the Certification Form to give to the Human Resources Department at the Exeter Township Administration Building.
Act 151 Child Abuse History Clearance
Before you begin, please know that you will be asked for all previous names, addresses and household members you've lived with since 1975. Please provide this information to the best of your knowledge. Directions:
- Click Pennsylvania Child Welfare Portal to begin.
- Create an account or log in if you already have one. An email address is required.
- Create your own Keystone ID# and complete the rest of the information.
- A temporary password will be sent to the email address you provided.
- Log in with your temporary password. Create a new password. Log in again with your new password.
- Accept the Terms and Conditions.
- Create Clearance Application.
- Click Begin.
- For Purpose of Clearance check the block marked: School employee governed by the public school code or volunteer having direct volunteer contact with children.
- Complete the rest of the application.
- Please save or print the certificate and provide a copy to the Human Resources Department at the Exeter Township Administration Building.
Act 114 FBI Federal Criminal History
Payment may vary. This is a two-step process of registering and then going to an IdentoGO facility to be fingerprinted. To begin:
- Please visit the IdentoGO website.
- Please enter code 1KG6ZJ and click Go. Please ensure you use the code 1KG6ZJ so that you can avoid needing to repeat the process and make a second payment.
- Click Schedule or Manage Appointment.
- Complete the required information on the next few screens. Click Next.
- Complete your mailing address information and click Next.
- Confirm which photo ID document you will bring along with you to your fingerprint appointment.
- Choose the facility where you'd like to have your fingerprints taken and select an appointment time and date.
- Please be sure to print or note your Registration ID and take that along with you to your fingerprint appointment.
- You will then receive an email copy of the official FBI clearance report once your fingerprints have been taken. This form should be submitted with your volunteer application.
