This Student Handbook is intended to provide you and your parents with information about the educational programs, extracurricular activities, regulations, and academic requirements at the Exeter Township Senior High School.

Read this information carefully; it is a valuable guide for your academic and social success as an Exeter Eagle. It is our goal to maintain a positive atmosphere and to assist students in realizing their maximum potential. Good instructors, modern resources, and first-rate facilities do little for a student unless the desire for knowledge is present within the learner. This handbook provides information concerning processes, procedures, and rules in place at Exeter Township Senior High School. It does not claim to cover every conceivable situation, but hopefully this handbook provides enough information so that students, parents, and teachers will be able to logically determine the correct actions to take during the school year.

The Pennsylvania Public School Code of 1949 specifically charges the School Boards of the Commonwealth to establish reasonable rules governing the conduct and discipline of all pupils under the supervision of the School District. The Student Code of Conduct of the Exeter Township School District, which is embedded into this handbook, is designed to meet that charge and to assist students, parents, teachers, administrators, the Board of School Directors, community agencies, and the community at large with establishing and maintaining an environment that is personally safe, fosters an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect, and allows students to develop to their fullest potential. This Student Code of Conduct outlines the authority of the school concerning the conduct and behavior of all students during such times as students are under the supervision of the School District and conduct which has an impact on the educational environment per District policy.

The purpose of this Student Code of Conduct is to make known the responsibilities of each student and the school in order to provide for the best possible learning climate. It was developed to assure that each student will be treated fairly and equitably.

It is the policy of the Exeter Township School District to not tolerate harassment in any form. Furthermore, the board prohibits all forms of unlawful harassment. This is addressed in Policy 248, which can be found on the district website under the School Board heading.
